Beautiful Indian National Bird Peacock 🇮🇳

🇮🇳🇮🇳The Indian peacock, Pavo cristatus, the national bird of India, is a colourful, swan-sized bird, with a fan-shaped crest of feathers, a white patch under the eye and a long, slender neck. The male of the species is more colourful than the female, with a glistening blue breast and neck and a spectacular bronze-green tail of around 200 elongated feathers. The female is brownish, slightly smaller than the male and lacks the tail. The elaborate courtship dance of the male, fanning out the tail and preening its feathers is a gorgeous sight.🇮🇳🇮🇳

🇮🇳In India people believe that whenever the cock spread its tails in an ornamental fashion, it indicates that rain is imminent. In a way it is partly true. At the sight of dark clouds the bird outspreads its tail and starts dancing in rhythmic fashion.🇮🇳

🇮🇳Found wild in India (and also domesticated in villages) they live in jungle lands near water. They were once bred for food but now hunting of peacocks is banned in India. The peahen has no plumage. These birds do not sound as beautiful as they look they have a harsh call.🇮🇳

🇮🇳In 1963, the peacock was declared the National Bird of India because of its rich religious and legendary involvement in Indian traditions. A peacock is a living rainbow. A peacock alone has the whole world of colors. The richness of colors gives it a heavenly beauty. A peacock represents the very essence of Indian philosophy.🇮🇳

Jammu Kashmir view 🌲🌲🌲

Kashmir, region of the northwestern Indian subcontinent.  The region, with a total area of some 85,800 square miles (222,200 square km), has been the subject of dispute between India and Pakistan since the partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947. The northern and western portions are administered by Pakistan and comprise three areas: Azad KashmirGilgit, and Baltistan, the last two being part of a territory called the Northern Areas. Administered by India are the southern and southeastern portions, JK and ladakh. The Indian- and Pakistani-administered portions are divided by a “line of control” agreed to in 1972, although neither country recognizes it as an international boundary. In addition, China became active in the eastern area of Kashmir in the 1950s and has controlled the northeastern part of Ladakh  since 1962.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has introduced Battery Car from Adhkuwari to the Checkpost at the Shrine.

Adhkuwari is about half the distance of the total travel, i.e. about 6 kms. Height wise also it is about half the height of the Shrine. So to reach Adhkuwari you need about half the effort. The object of introducing Battery Car was that for those elderly devotees who cannot trek the entire 14 kms can trek half the distance and half the height upto Adhkuwari  and from there take a Battery Car.

Battery car runs on a route different from the one for ponies and is totall tiled with cement tiles and is pretty smooth. This route is about 6 kms and the battery car covers it in about 15-20 minutes. It has Nescafe and a few other outlets along the way
